I have been doing fairly well Blogging more than I would have in a Journal... Maybe it is because someone will read it sooner than if I did it in a Journal. Since I last wrote we have had several storms that had my knee begging to be removed, Mike came for a "visit" for about 27 hours after having been gone for 3 weeks.

Currently we had Today off(No-School) due to Ice, and now tomorrow is cancelled too. That means all Youth activities are cancelled as well. The Kids fought all day today over who got to do what and when. I'm hoping after our interesting trip to Walmart, to exchange a broken Christmas Gift and spending Money that was given as a gift, that tomorrow will go better.

I did good this last Christmas for candy munching(except in utah thanks to "Mom" and her Harry and David Basket of YUMMIES!!!!!). I have about half a bag of Peppermint M & M's left and it is the only bag of candy that I bought for myself and myself alone.

Kahlan sold 72 boxes of Cookies for Girl Scouts with only marginal help from Mom. Jarin had a black eye from picking on a friends little sister one too many times(She got even by smacking Him with the tines to a garden rake).

Today was Scouts for the Boys...yesterday was Girl Scouts(Kahlan is selling cookies until Monday)... the Cubs did achievement 22 in the Bear book, and the older boys went bowling with the Young Women.

I also cooked a whole Chicken today for our dinner with the Missionaries on Thursday(tomorrow). Jarin arranged the whole thing, and since Mike is unable to be there the first Counselor and His wife will be bringing them hewre and taking them home afterward. Jarin has asked me to make Homemade Chicken Soup in my Homemade Bread bowls. For dessert we are having Chocolate Chip Carmel Brownies with Vanilla Ice Cream.

Kahlan's glasses came in today, and she is wearing them now. She also had a Girl Scout meeting today in which the Gum she got from a friend went into her hair. In true to Kahlan form she let her leaders CUT IT OUT!!!! I'm SO not happy. She did need a hair cut but now she needs it earlier than I had planned, or can afford right now.

Kahlan's replacement frames are not in yet...


The Missionaries are coming for Dinner on Thursday. Jarin has arranged the whole thing, the First Counselor in the Bishopric and his wife are picking them up and bringing them here. Jarin has picked out homemade Chicken Soup in homemade bread bowls. Not sure what we are going to have with it....yet.

Saturday was a very relaxing day. The boys played the PS2 all morning, and the girls played in their room. We did our grocery shopping for the week, and went to the Library. I then spent almost the entire rest of the day reading the books I got from the Library, and need to go back to get more.

Kids are in School tomorrow, due to an "Ice" day we have had in the past month. good thing too, my kids would rather be in school most of the year, with few breaks. they LOVe it, and get really cranky if weather interfers to much with being able to go.

Kahlan is going on a full week now since she broke her glasses and I took them to be fixed. I shall be calling the place we got them from tomorrow, Monday. She is noticing now why She needs them so badly.

Jarin is going to be playing a solo for the Music Festival on March 14th. The scoring is 1-4, 1 being the best, and 4 being the worst. The name of the piece is "Procession of Honor". In February He gets to take the ACT's for the Duke University's Talent Search Program. We got a letter earlier this year stating that his scores from the previous year qualified for Him to take it early if he wanted. So, if he gets the 'right' scores He can attend Duke University for 3 weeks this Summer to take a few of their Summer Classes. Yes, I do know that Duke is in Vermont, and if he has the scores, He WILL go. This will be such a great opportunity for Him to see what college will be like(kinda).

Weston is in a dual class this year, meaning that He has 2 Teachers and about 45 students in the same classroom. I think that He is getting a little lost in the crowd, but he likes it.

Joselyn is in a half-day Preschool that she would love for it to be full-day, and not just 4 days a week. She hates Friday because they are boring for her.

I am hoping that Our Family can be better aware of what we do by blogging. Now to remember to post often enough.
